Heard word that former UK football class wanted to have a reunion, and UK kinda snubbed them, making them buy tickets, etc. Well, it appears that UK is trying to maybe mend some fences with all UK football alumni.

Nice event here.

LEXINGTON, Ky. – Former Kentucky football players are invited to have lunch with the current Wildcats following Saturday’s practice at Commonwealth Stadium.

Practice begins Saturday, Aug. 18 at 9 a.m. Lunch follows at approximately 11:30 a.m.

Wildcat football alumni interested in attending practice and lunch should register no later than +Thursday, Aug. 16 by contacting Jeremy Jarmon via e-mail jeremy.jarmon@uky.edu or by calling (859) 257-2999. Spouses and children are invited.

Former players not able to attend on Saturday may attend other practices by contacting the football office in advance. Coach Joker Phillips scheduled Saturday’s lunch event for the former players to meet-and-greet with the current Cats.

Why would they have snubbed them to begin with? Stuff like that just makes shake your head.

i thought all lettermen were entitled to tickets if they wanted them. you would think they would have some sort of database with all the former players in it.

They didn't snub them.

Some of the players were having an unofficial reunion. There was some miscommunication from the guy putting it together and some of the former players. UK gives EVERY former letterman a season ticket and the option of buying an additional ticket at face value(no K fund needed).

I like that they are letting them come to a practice and wish they'd let them attend more of the practices and such unimpeded as it would help to foster a better culture at UK.
