You know a glaring answer? We Left The Gold Standard leading to heavy spending without hard back up...

But that first chart is not about that. I would wager that is the intro of microcircuitry in our mfg industries and also led to all business sectors. So Productivity rose as we produced more with less workers. That is also about the time the Manufacturing industry started shifting overseas, particularly asia. Not in full, but was the start. So, as MFG jobs declined so did good paying jobs for the average joe.
