Pick the Favorites 2023 First week (week 0)

Are we ready for some football?!? I know I am.

The pickins’ are pretty slim for the first weekend of games but you might find a nugget or two you like. Same rules as last year, pick up to three games with a 50 point bankroll, and your picks have to be in increments of 10. The favorite just has to cover the listed spread. For example, 10 on game A, 20 on game B, and 20 on game C. Or put all 50 on game D, your choice. Just for fun and we’ll name a winner at the end of the season. Last year Doc ran away with it. And I mean it wasn’t close. So good luck!

Not sure if everyone knows this but Notre Dame’s new offensive coordinator is former Kentucky receiver Gerard Parker. He spent two years as OC with Neal Brown at WVU before being demoted last year.

Hah I can beat that. I thought UMass was the worst team in college football but it’s apparently New Mexico State. And UTEP (45 miles away) got beat at Jacksonville State. I’m glad I don’t live down there.

UMass at NM State (-8)…UMass wins a season opener on the road for the first time in 50 years. Just my luck.
Ohio at San Diego St. (-3)…Aztecs win by 7, cover
Hawaii at Vanderbilt (-17.5)…Vandy wins but doesn’t cover. Beat Hawaii by 53 last year; 7 this year. At home.
San Jose St. at USC (-30)…USC wins 56-28 but doesn’t cover as Lincoln Riley still eschews defense.
Florida Intl. at LA Tech (-10)…La. Tech with Hank Bachmeier at QB wins by 5 but doesn’t cover

CF73 +20-33 = -13. Not a good start. Don’t forget, a losing pick carries a 10% penalty.
