You couldn't pay me enough to handle divorce work. I've been either a solo practitioner or in a small (2 or 3 person) firm for more than 25 years, and that, and criminal work are areas I'm happy others enjoy so I am not included in it!

Back when I was with a medium to large size firm (some might call it small, but 30 lawyers to me was medium; it was large in Montgomery), I had a very good friend of mine who practiced domestic law in Baton Rouge. After 5 pm one day, a crazed spouse came into his office, and shot and killed a partner of his. It helped seal the deal to me that I'd never practice in that area.
