Guys,

I am very tempted to put together my own AR by buying the parts from PSA.

What I do not know is what type of, if any, special tools I would need to do so?

Anyone assemble their own firearms by purchasing parts?

I have two I need to put together, but a friend is going to help me. He probably has 30 he has built. In hindsight, I would have bought a complete upper and just assembled the lower.

Ok, that is very good to know. Thank you.

I have a couple AR style rifles that I bought a complete upper and complete lower separate. At the time I saved about $100 doing this.

I am assuming you need some small clamps etc for holding the springs etc? any specific tools?

Would a local gun shop do this for a fee for somebody who struggled to put together a Palm Pilot memory upgrade?

I would say so, or most likely to at a small gun shop.
