The U.S. has been denied direct access to the only publicly known suspect in custody in connection with the Benghazi terror attack, Fox News has learned, with U.S. interrogators still unable to sit in the same room as the Egypt-held prisoner to ask questions.

"The Egyptian military has long had cordial ties with Israel and is a pillar of support for the peace treaty within the Egyptian Government," the statement said.

The First Arab/Israeli War

Egyptian seizure of Israeli Naval ship

Israeli raid on Gaza in response to Naval ship seizure

The Sinai War

The 2nd Arab/Israeli War or Six Day War

The 3rd Arab/Israeli War or Yom Kippur War

Oh yeah, long history of cordial ties. It's true we bought the peace by giving the Egyptian military massive amounts of foreign aid, and this equipment is in that tradition, but that's when the military ran the country. Now we have a far more precarious situation. We don't want to cut ties to the Egyptian military b/c it will leave a vacuum our enemies will occupy, but we don't want to arm the next invasion of Israel either.

One benefit of them having all US weapons is we control the supply of spare parts and weaponry. As long as we don't give them too much of a leash on those things they can't sustain combat for long. Of course I'm not real confident we'll pursue that strategy.

I am hoping they did the smart thing and programmed in a kill switch in the computer systems of these flying gifts so that they can shut them down whenever they like.

You and me both Dan. Doubt anyone at State Dept. was but hopefully the CIA/NSA have some "friends" there.

There's nobody smart enough to think of that in the State Department.
