My 89 year old father and his 76 year old wife just got positive results back. They live in an assisted living facility in Louisville that has basically been locked down since last March.

The facility has done a pretty good job with only a handful of cases since the pandemic started. They have not been allowed out of the facility and no visitors have been allowed in. The only ones going in are the workers and they are supposed to go through some pretty stringent screening. It looks like a care worker is the carrier, still waiting on tracing result.

They were both tested last Wednesday after developing a cough and losing their sense of taste. Both of their symptoms have remained mild with my dads wife developing body aches and pains. My dad’s cough has subsided but his taste has not returned and he’s experiencing slight headaches from time to time.

We are remaining vigilante as they are quarantined in their apartment with their meals and health care being catered to their living area.

It is going to be long nerve racking week while waiting to see how this thing plays out

Please keep my family in your prayers...

Blueboss, they are in my prayers.

I hope you take some slight comfort that even at their ages, they are seeing a lot of good results and treatment, if necessary, has gotten better and better. Good thoughts and prayers for them and the family.

Boss, I am very sorry to hear this news. Prayers are for a healthy outcome. I know several people in that age group who have tested positive and recovered completely. Even my ex wife who has ALS contracted Covid 19 and made a complete recovery in about 3 weeks. Her asymptomatic husband with terminal cancer has recently tested negative.

The point is the people I know who have contracted Covid are all doing well even with severe underlying conditions. I truly hope your dad and his wife follow this same path. Every case is different, but there is reason to be hopeful.

Quick update, so far so good, neither ones symptoms have gotten worse. In fact my dad sounded a little bit chipper this afternoon. His wife is still drained and achey but no respiring issues.

Sincerely appreciate the well wishes and prayers.

Well, you all have helped me and my family out again with all your prayers and well wishes. My dad and his wife’s symptoms have improved, so much so that they were tested today to see if they are no longer positive.

My father, at 89 never really had any serious symptoms other than “lead in his ass” (his words). His wife’s symptoms were more serious with aches pains, serious fatigue, and stomach issues. Neither experienced respiratory distress, or problems breathing.

They are waiting for results so they’re not out of the woods yet. Plus, at their age and the mysterious nature of this virus I still have concerns for residual effects, or relapse.

...also a big shout to Magnolia Springs for all their care and attention. For those in the Louisville area that may have to consider assisted living for a loved one, it’s a very nice option.

Continued prayers for a positive outcome.
And for what it is worth, my father's saying was 'I just don't have any starch in my drawers".
I have heard the "lead in my ass" and I would love to know your father.

Great news so far, and I have my knee pads on...
