This is often true unfortunately.

Any party who controls all 3 branches is going to do a poor job of compromise.
So, I do hope since we will have a divided government there will be more unity and both sides can work together.
Unfortunately, it often becomes political suicidal for Congress to work together. They often lose in their next primary.
