Town pledges to not call cops, esp. for "property crime" apparently. So what happens? Homeless, prostitutes and drug dealers are relocating there en masse.

Their response? Read this:

“I’m not being judgmental,” Carrie Nightshade, 44, told the Times, explaining she no longer allows her children, 12 and 9, to play in the park by themselves. “It’s not personal. It’s just not safe.

...

Another resident, Mitchell Erickson, said he regretted calling 911 when two black teenagers cornered him a block away from his home, held a gun to his chest and demanded his car keys. Erickson said he mistakenly handed over his house keys, and the frustrated teens left him only to steal another car a few blocks away.

“Been thinking more about it,” Erickson said in a text message to a reporter. “I regret calling the police. It was my instinct but I wish it hadn’t been. I put those boys in danger of death by calling the cops.”

I don't think i want to even be on the same planet as this level of thinking. How far off is SpaceX from the Mars thing?

You refuse to be judgemental about hookers and drug dealers taking over your community? You feel bad for people who threatened you with a gun to steal your car that you didn't give it to them and had the gall to call the cops? It's now "white privilege" to expect to be safe in your own neighborhood?

What...... The..... F........

I'm down to wondering if some foreign power has poisoned our water supply with something that causes stupidity. No one can feel that guilty about being middle class. No one can be that stupid without a genetic or chemical reason, surely. No one can reason that the "two black teenagers" are better off being left to a community full of drugs and crime as a way of life versus insisting on a basic respect for the social contract that we all respect each other's rights. No one can honestly think the solution to law enforcement excess is to allow people to steal cars at gunpoint in order to improve their lives and their neighborhood.

How can anyone think this helps ANYONE in the long run? Anarchy and lawless crime waves are going to do more to make black lives (or any other lives) matter than safe communities where businesses can open and provide jobs and a tax base for improved education? We've gone from Enterprise Zones designed to encourage businesses in poor areas to "Autonomous" zones that are free for gangs, dealers and hookers to operate in those areas? This is helping?

Trump is an asshat, but if my choice is his antics or tacit acceptance of this direction for our nation, what the heck kind of choice is that?

It is an obvious choice.

I think people say stupid stuff like that for the same reason they tell pollsters what they want to hear when they call them, fear of reprisal from the very violent fringe left.

what the heck kind of choice is that?

Not as tough a one as some we have had to make in the last 20 years.

There is a third option when someone puts a gun in your chest and tries to steal your car. 1) Give them your car and apparently lament the toll society has taken on them to drive them to such behavior, 2) call the cops, 3) Reach for something besides your keys...

Those are the craziest things I have heard. Guy steals your car and you regret calling the police?

Where is the middle ground? Demand safety for the community and fair treatment of all citizens.

I am not feeling bad for anyone that would put a gun to my head

I agree. I recall many elections were "choose the least worse".

I think that middle ground includes at least 80% of the population. Those of us who want the bad cops punished for their transgressions (no cops or departments helping cover up bad actions) and law breakers punished in an equitable manner.

To allow crime to occur unabated because of a limited number of police abuses is utter lunacy.

Definitely rooting for the criminals to take over the houses. Home owners tossed out and living in the tents! Tent dwellers move into the homes.

lol. Yes, if that were to happen maybe then they'd realize property is more important than they seem to currently think. If people just came in their homes and took their things, or flat evicted them.

When these supporters start to get vandalized and criminal acts happen to them they will change their tone.

I think is so funny riding through Audubon Park with all these rich Catholic’s and their BLM signs in the front yard.
Since when did catholic’s start supporting a marixist socialist government?

They support it because they fear retribution.

Some do but I imagine not the truth of the political movement.

The left is great at playing word games. It's not "Communism", it's "The People's Democratic Republic". It's not "Socialist", it's "Progressive".

Well who isn't for being "progressive"? They do this with everything, so that if you don't agree then you're the opposite of progressive, or not for "The People", etc. Same thing here.

Here is what makes no sense to me, the “Hollywood Elite” seems to be forever fascinated with socialism and Marxism, but made their money from capitalism. I don’t see them being happy when their wealth will be confiscated.
