I am dismayed by the following;

And by an 11 percentage-point margin, voters consider protecting the constitutional right to own a gun more important than protecting citizens from gun violence (51-40 percent).

40 percent of those that responded to the poll do not think much of the constitution.

I was honestly surprised it was still 11 points in our favor the way the question was worded. it was straight up, 2nd amendment or safety.

Dan I was just reading it and found that to be about the most astounding piece of all. Not happy with how well the "assault weapons" phrase has worked, but for it being beaten like a drum by the media it hasn't worked nearly as well as I may have expected.

Otherwise the numbers are far stronger on gun ownership than I would have expected. The reaction nationwide has been the same as I've seen in the lexington region. People aren't more afraid of guns as violence has gone up, they're more likely to arm themselves and fight back against the filth.

wish it were more like 70% but I'm happy it's still 50% with the onslaught the Constitution takes daily in the media. 50% gives me some hope we can keep the dream alive despite the efforts of those who would sell us down the river and let the government tell us down to what size drink we can buy.

A Rasmussen poll finds that nearly two-thirds see gun rights as protecting Americans from tyranny. One amazing stat was 57% of non-gun owners held the view.
