I'm not at all sure if the blogger is wrong about the DNC and that the rift may become deeper and wider than it currently appears to be, and that there is less agreement on some social issues than is being claimed. There are a lot of older Democrats that only vote along party lines because they have always done so, not because they agree with the DNC platform.

For those who can't get to the link

President Barack Obama's Jobs Council hit a notable milestone on Thursday: one year without an official meeting. The 26-member panel is also set to expire at the end of the month, unless Obama extends its tenure.

The panel was all show. Very similar to the debt commission (aka Simpson Bowles) in that it was designed to appease voters with concerns but there was no intention of implementing any of the recommendations.

Wasn't Biden's panel also just for show? It was preordained that they would make most of the proposals that were made.

Yes. Clearly the president see things in two ways. 1 is his way and the other is the wrong way. He has no desire to compromise or revise or look at any other opinion. If the law says he can't do it he ignores it or changes the law. If his policies don't work then he blames somebody else. These councils were a farce

Everyone on the jobs panel did not agree with Obama's views, and has not met in a year. I believe the panel members' terms expire at the end of the month.
