Not that I expect those on the left or who disapprove of him to agree but

Impeachment witness Vindman fired, escorted out of White House after Trump acquittal

President makes policy, period. You don't like it, fine, but don't interfer with his policies. Trumps biggest mistake was not getting rid of all those who work at his pleasure. Should have fired the whole lot on day one

Vindman was subpoenaed and testified, and was under oath when he did so. I’ve never seen anywhere that Trump thought Vindman perjured himself, only that he was furious with him. Should he have lied to Congress to keep Trump happy? Is that really what he expected him to do?

No, not lied to congress. He should not have undermine the president. He stated he had issues with the POLICY. Read or listen to the testimony. I put those actions akin to a technician telling a client my diagnosis or treatment is incorrect. I have had that happen in the past, and those individuals were terminated without delay

Trump’s whole vendetta is stupid because he’s firing exactly the type of person that needs to be working in his administration. Vindman is career military and worked for the NSC. Everything he said during the deposition was framed from a national security point of view. In my opinion, national security is more important than the feelings of the president.

If Vindman or any other public servant wants to set policy they should run for President. If they do and win then they can determine foreign and domestic policy. Many long time civil servants have tried to undermine Trump since the day he took office, and those are exactly NOT the type of person one wants in their administration. Those are the type who want to see you fail, want to interpret phone calls in the most damaging manner possible and the type who will actively try to discredit their boss. Vindman will be replace by another long time military person who hopefully will support Trump's vision. As for Vindman, he was not terminated, just reassigned. It is perfectly within Trump's perogative to put people anywhere he wants in his administration. Not having people who support you and what you are doing is what leads to leaks and bogus whistleblowers.

And add Sondland to the list

Other than saying that he was disturbed by the conversations when did Vindman ever indicate that he wanted Trump to fail or was otherwise undermining him?

Those positions at the White House all serve at the pleasure of the president. Reason or not, they can be appointed, or removed.
An interesting fact I learned in all of this, all 3 of the Vindman siblings are Ukrainian, born in Kiev while under Soviet rule. Name changes occurred after their immigration to the US.

Alexander Semyon Vindman (né Aleksandr Semyonovich Vindman) and his identical twin brother, Yevgeny, were born in the Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic, Soviet Union.[3][4] After the death of their mother, the three-year-old twins and their older brother, Leonid, were brought to New York in December 1979 by their father, Semyon (Simon)

Beginning in 2008, Vindman became a Foreign Area Officer specializing in Eurasia. In this capacity he served in the U.S. embassies in Kiev, Ukraine, and Moscow, Russia.

I bet he knows Kyiv is in Ukraine.
