View Full Version : Looking for this... Do they make it?

So, my wife has traditionally placed some spices, seasonings, etc. on top of our stove. We got a new stove in today and it really allows a little bit of space between the top of the stove and the wall, which means that potentially some of the small jars could fall behind the stove.

So what I'm looking for is sort of a stove top caddy or rack of sorts. Something that would go on top of the back top edge of the stove control board, perhaps wider than the stove edge itself, and would allow placing the salt and pepper shakers, seasonings, etc. on top, and maybe even expand the space.

Any idea if they make something like that?

You could make her a custom blind shelf to go over the top and prevent small jars from falling in behind the stove. Be worth some extra brownie points and that never hurts with the missus...
You can get the kits at Lowe's, Home Depot & Menard's and custom finish it to match any decor.

Thanks, Dan. Mr. C got me to looking at this as I have heard some "talk" between my wife and daughter about this very thing and I may have found one that would work for the needs of Darrel and Mrs. C as well. They are relatively inexpensive, you can get as many as you wish and they are paintable; so you can match any finish you may have.

I'm going to have to ask Mrs. C. what she wants, so I appreciate all the great suggestions.

It also helped me find one of my own with a better search query than "stove caddy" which was pretty useless.

If it were up to me, this is what I would get.

That looks pretty slick and the color options will pretty much go with any decor; looks like you have found a winner.

I don't think it is as good as several other suggestions, but the part that gets me is the "no installation." 😊

When I saw those words at the end of the product description, I knew it would be a strong contender and only a down vote from Mrs. C could force you to look further

I haven't shown her yet. I'm waiting for the right time. Probably after I screw up some other home project.

Get out your screwdriver set, a portable drill, and a flashlight and walk slowly by her in the direction of the kitchen while she is looking at you with those tools in your hand. My bet is you never make it to the kitchen.

Does she know about the Palm Pilot or did you do that in a dark corner of the basement at 3am?
