Got a long sleeve blue UK dry-fit t-shirt I really like. I don't have anything like it. Plain (new style) UK in white letters on the front, nothing else.

I have plenty of short-sleeved Kentucky t-shirts, but this is the first long sleeve t-shirt I have.

As much as you enjoy history, at least, Civil War (but I'm guessing all) that is a very cool gift for you.

No, just UK, but the new style UK. I've made my peace with it.

Haven't thrown it in the hamper yet, so here's a pic.

Would love to do this as well.

I've done both 23 and Me and Ancestry DNA. I got more genetic info from the 23 and Me test, but the Ancestry DNA has helped me turn up more ancestors through my Ancestry family tree.

I got a new Kindle Paperwhite. For an e-reader it's hard to beat IMHO. I had an old Kindle that lasted for about 9 years and finally died. This one has an adjustable backlight so you can turn off the light and read in direct sunlight, or put it on/adjust it to read in low light. The new ones are also waterproof and have Audible capability built in so you can listen to Audible books through it with Bluetooth headphones.

I looked long and hard at it, and then looked at my daughter's tuition bill for next semester, and her trip to Greece in a few days, and my son's soccer training, and physical trainer, and the tuition of the schools he's considering, etc. etc. etc. and decided my existing Paperwhite would have to do. I don't have a pool, rarely go to the beach, and can live with adjusting the display manually when I read in bed and listen to Audible through my phone. Sigh.

It almost caught me at a weak moment, though. I have read six books recently since Thanksgiving on the Paperwhite, one purchased and five borrowed through the library, and kinda on a roll.

That's a great gift and I'm jealous. I think it also has more memory than my Paperwhite, although that hasn't really been an issue for me.

I also got a gift people here will probably hate me for getting...a Yi 4k action camera.

I've gotten pretty good with the basic Yi action camera, but the 4k, of course, videos in 4k if you like, but the reason I got it was for its auto-live streaming option. I intend to live-stream soccer games for my son's high school this spring (well, beginning in February with it being ice-cold, and hard to call that spring). Supposedly it is easy. We will see. I suspect I'll be hitting people up for advice here.

You will have to know my wife to appreciate this story. We obviously have some native american DNA. How much? No clue and I do not claim it because everyone else does and I don't want to be that person. But both of my girls had to be tested for Cystic Fibrosis. The doctor tried to comfort my wife by telling her the newborn screen is nearly perfect in Caucasians for CF. She looked at him and said "but he is Native American". The doctor just looked at her and said "okay" with one of those looks you just had to see. Thankfully the test came back negative and we can now laugh at her.

Once I do this ancestry one, I値l wantthe 23 and me next. I wanted either one to start, so that was a perfect gift. Comparing them de results to what the various paper records say will be fun

Mine are Raycon E50 Eardrums, use them with my iPhone 7+. They came with an assortment of the little gel things that fit into your ear so you can get the perfect fit and not fall out as well as give true noise cancelling. So far so good!

My son has the X90 Titans by Raycon, which I’m sure are supposed to be better for gaming if he has them, but I just plan on using mine mostly for watching movies on my phone.

My stepmom sent the steaks. I had to track it down through the company.

With my father passing away this year, I think she wanted me to have a gift from "him" for Christmas.

Very sweet.

yep...its a travel mug. Costs $40.00 and they fill it free for the month of Jan. They say one per day but if you live someplace normal, there are 4 Starbucks in a 5 mile radius. Just go to a different one to refill on any given day.

plus its a nice travel mug. My daughter gets them for us every year. Are hard to find as they don't make a lot of them

Darrell KSR

Do they sell those at all the stores? That's a cool gift.

Ancestry DNA kit which I’m anxious to see the results of

Got the results - it surprised me that 1 region is so dominant, but it might include English, German, Swiss and even some Irish under “northwestern Europe” from what I read. The communities is certainly correct (around Breathitt County, Ky, specifically) though I hoped to see others listed

^Good stuff, thanks for updating.

Mine's pretty similar: 66% England, Wales & Northwestern Europe, 30% Ireland & Scotland, 4% Sweden. Some differences from 23 and Me I did a few years ago , so not sure which is more accurate. I have been able to use the Ancestry DNA test to pick up more relatives than with 23 and Me.

One of my 2x great grandmothers was supposedly Native American (and looks like it in a photo) but that didn稚 show up for me.

Someone said I could upload my ancestry results to Family Tree and they can analyze them. I値l probably try that as well as 23 and Me.
