New York Daily News: Sports Dept cut from 35 people to....nine

Overall, half of its entire staff was cut yesterday.

The New York Daily News announced plans to eliminate half of its newsroom as part of a broader effort to refocus the newspaper.

Daily News staff members were notified of the cuts in an email sent by the company's human resources department. nbcnews.to/2LgVM7E

For them most of it is just the shrinking newspaper industry, some part of it is that they are vitriolically over the top on some issues. Trump has been a favorite target of their since long before he was a politician. It's an odd paper really, part newspaper and part satire mag like the French paper whose name I can't recall offhand.
