Its not like they can throw the guy off the plane. They moved her. She wants a full refund? (hey, more free stuff, why not...guess a 50% voucher wasnt enough). They took too long to respond? Well maybe they were trying to figure out what the best response was, who this guy was and what their legal recourses were (on an international flight, that has to be confusing--US law, English Law, International, is it illegal at all??). And they contacted security when the flight landed...and she declinded. Its not like the airlines gave him astroglide and was showing porn. Maybe you can criticize the stewardess for joking but I doubt they have a "How to resolve a masterbating passanger situation" in stewardess school, although I'm sure they will now implement that in the preflight speech right after showing us how to use the seatbelts. What is she suppose to do, punch him in the groin? I think her cool headed approach probably was the right on. Move the passangers first. A-hole was probably done by then. Most guy don't do this in public...those who do are perverts but stop when discovered.....those who don't are sicko's and aren't best off just being left alone.....and get the hell away from them.

Or maybe the guy just had a bad case of the crabs and the lady mistakenly thought his scratching was something else

Pretty bizarre story. Amazed that United treated the incident so casually from beginning to end.

I don't know they did. We only have her story. Im sure they contacted the guy. Odds are he has been banned from their airlines, at least I suspect so, but its not like they would make that public. And its not like they would make an announcement they have this stuff happening on their flights. To me it sounds like they did reply, she just wanted a free flight which is about $1500 for that. They gave here a voucher for half off which to me sound generous. Heck, I've endured far worse on flights and gotten no compensation.
