Rules are simple--you have $100 pretend KSR-bucks to wager on the Derby. Person with the most money remaining after the race wins.

One year somebody (Oledon?) said they took the $100 and put it in their pocket. As I recall, they won the contest that year. Badrose won it one year with a $330 day, as I recall. I don't recall huge wins; his may have been the best. Thedonnie123 won last year with $181, nipping Doc's $180. (His secret was he kept $10 in his pocket, only wagered $90, won $171. Clever.)

We'll use the correct odds, but here are the current ones, courtesy of Bovada. If you play early, watch for scratches (unless you just want a refund) so you can place another wager.

20 across on Hofburg
20 to win on My Boy Jack
10/10 Place\Show Solomini

That said...all things being equal (mud and all), Justify will win the thing by five lengths or better.
A triple Crown caliber horse imo.

I'm sorta bummed about My Boy Jack...thought I'd get a deal on a cheap show ticket, but just checked and odds have dropped from 30-1 to 5-1. Liked him before the track got muddy, and liked him even more now--as do many others lol.

Any idea which horses are the best swimmers? I'm hearing you guys in the area are in a flood type status. Looking forward to watching it.

Justify $60.00 to win, place or show. Is that a legit bet?

$40.00 food , drink and an umbrella

Thats twenty across (win, place, AND show), and hot dog/beer/plastic poncho at the track. And that's 90's prices.

Pretty legit.

This goes for everybody, but please check me on my numbers. I'm not very good at this. Some would say I'm not very good at anything, and they wouldn't be all wrong, either lol.

Badrose walks away with $390!

All on Justify to win.Winner.

$78 + 60 + 44, and KSR comped the food, drink and provided our own ponchos so he didn't need the umbrella, so we're giving back the $40.

Total $222. Fun day at the track, albeit a little wet, and a little profit to show for it.

I show Blueboss the big winner walking away with $532, and badrose another nice day with $390 right behind him.

Dan had a good profitable day with $222, and I managed to do a little better than break even with $156.

Flounder cut his losses with a $75 winner, and everybody else just enjoyed the history!

Thanks for playing, all. If I miscalculated, let me know.
