@ALcomBirmingham: Harvey could push gas prices to highest level in 2 years: How high will they go? http://trib.al/JOGw6cR https://twitter.com/ALcomBirmingham/status/902482311912062976/photo/1

I was out around midnight last night and stopped at a Shell gas station. Gas had gone up slightly to 2.139 per gallon for regular, but premium was 2.999.

I left and went down Hwy 280 in search of a place that had not raised their prices yet. Raceway (which I don't use) had regular at 2.139 also, didn't check premium.

Drove 1 mile and saw two other stations had raised regular to 2.159 before locating a BP station that had not raised prices yet. It was 2.039 regular, and I filled up at 2.699 premium and called it good.

Have gas prices risen where you are in the last couple of days? What is it now where you are?

Drove to Richmond Ky today, I stopped in Shelbyville and paid 2.19. Eight hours later on my return trip I noticed that the big giant interstate sign still had it at 2.19.

Fuel prices are always higher in and around Louisville and S. Indiana. All the signs I noticed were around 2.59, IIRC last week it was 2.39.

From 2.17 to 2.65 since Harvey. 30 cents of that jump was in 24 hours.

Locally, for some unknown reason--as we aren't having gas shortages--Costco ran out of gas today for regular. So they are selling premium gasoline for regular prices.

I use their premium gas, but I only need about 5 gallons right now to fill up, so I'm not going to make the trek to save 80 cents a gallon for only 5 gallons. Now, if I were empty.....

Locally gas prices spiked from $2.299 to $2.699 over about 36 hours. In Ashland prices went from around $2.179 to $2.699.

Just filled up for $2.59 at Kroger in Louisville. Its always higher here in the metro area because of pollution taxes.

Understandable. Keep em filled, Doc.

I'm going to try to remember to check gas prices on the way home tonight.

I'd he'd take my advice and stock up on guns he'd be fine on the other stuff. :)

$2.079 regular, $2.529 premium Costco Birmingham (Hoover Galleria). I bought 33 gallons of premium Friday & Saturday. Worked out well--tank was empty, filled up Friday, drove to/from Huntsville Saturday, returned and on way home, stopped in to refill. Wasn't empty, but close enough (unfortunately). I save at least 30 cents a gallon, and usually 40 cents. Has been as high as 50 cents, without even trying.

$2.49 for regular in Pinehurst, NC. One guy has a monopoly on the whole county so we always pay 15 to 20 cents more.

Gas at the local stations jumped 25 cents today. No obvious reason.

Gas at the local stations jumped 25 cents today. No obvious reason.

My wife told me that she bought gas at a Shell station yesterday for $2.07. I drove home from class and couldn't find a station less than $2.25 (should have been similar prices).

My son left his car at his workplace yesterday, so we went to pick it up last night--across the street was a BP station, where the price was $2.09.

Evidently a couple of stations had not received the memo and had not raised the prices yet. Did not hear why everybody raised their prices yesterday. I suspect that the other stations raised their prices this morning, but I haven't checked yet.

I'm headed out of town tomorrow, so I was glad to fill up and maybe save a couple of bucks before I left. I will use a tank of gas tomorrow driving there and back, and then will have another ½ tank I'll use for a shorter trip Saturday. I should've stockpiled the gas!

I was able to buy gas @ $2.35 p/gal in Okeechobee on Tuesday night. Coming down in price slower than I thought it would though by this time. I guess those 2 hurricanes here & in Texas has slowed the decline in prices some.

My son told me it was $1.99 at Costco. I don't need gas, but it's almost worth driving there to say I got sub-$2 gas lol.
