Died at his home in Kentucky (not sure where) from ALS. He was 73.

Loved him in The Right Stuff as Chuck Yeager--an underrated movie. Also good in so many other movies. And an award-winning playwright. RIP.

I found that he lived on his horse farm in Midway

His most important contributions to art, despite most knowing him as an actor, was his writing for both the stage and screen. Very talented.
