Any computer guru's out here (besides Darrell :) that can help. My 2 finger scroll no longer works on the touchpad. Can't scroll down pages at all, unless I go to far right side and grab bar to bring down.

Dell Inspiron N7010 6 years old.

No restore point to take it back.

Was acting funky, very little storage space left on it a few days ago. I started making sure everything was updated. I had the Synaptics pointer device, which is now gone.

Have since d/l Synaptics again but not showing up anywhere when I go into device manager. Scans say everything is working properly.

Hey Coastie, can you go in to those unknown devices and get me the Hardware ID?

To get that, double click on the entry, select the details tab and in the dropdown on that page select hardware ID, give me what it says under value.

Luckily, I've played around in here so much I know how to do that. :)

Hmm those hardware are related to Realtek HDAudio and not your touchpad; so that is a red herring. I will need to think some more.

I probably could have cleared it right up with a torx screwdriver and a leather punch, but you're too picky.

That's funny right there!

I downloaded a program named "Driver Max." It scanned and gave me a list of updates needed. Since it was the free version, I could only d/l 1-2 a day. Well apparently I finally got the right one for the scroll touch pad. All is good. Well, except now my storage is low. :) Thanks!!
