Despite being insane, that's nto a bad price for a flashlight with FOUR XHP70 emitters. There is a full review (in Korean) with pictures of output and a teardown. The output is just ludicrous: http://gearkr.com/?p=77085

I will not spend that kind of money on a light, hope it comes down in price in a year of so to half the sale price. Specs indicate it will throw a beam out to 700 meters. That is just short of 1/2 mile. Gee whilikers, I would be approaching dangerous with one of those to play with

Oh man, that video is funny. That's like turning on the sun. If I had a spread out in the country I'd have one, hear a noise and you can see all the way to the barns with that thing. All the way to the neighbor's barns.

This is the first flashlight where the word tactical might actually apply. Turn it on at an intruder and burn the retinas right out of their skull.

It really is tactical in that sense, imagine turning that thing on against an intruder in the dark.

Personally I prefer my night vision goggles (which I didn't set out to buy, but they were too good a price to pass up), as they don't highlight your position, but that thing is so bright it might not matter.

It does have a strobe mode, but I do not know if it will strobe at the highest light output setting. That would be something to see from a distance

This board has some serious flashlight guys on it. I'm not sure But I think this is some kind of very narrowly defined geek porn thing. ;)

I made two serious mistakes tonight. The first was talking to my father in law about guns. I mentioned that I needed a Glock 19 and didn't realize my wife was listening. She doesn't understand why it is a need when I have another 9mm.

The second was when I was showing my son this flashlight. Again, my wife creeped up out of nowhere to see the price. I resorted to the sale price but it was too late, the damage was done.

I love flashlights. I don't have as many as some on this board, as I'm more of a wannabe, but man, I wanted that one.

For the same reason women need more shoes, or jewelry or whatever. The sexes aren't different in their indulgences, just the form.

Honestly you don't even indulge with guns. I don't either b/c I can live vicariously through the inventory I have over time, so I feel like I have loads of guns even though my personal guns are pretty few.

But in this case you have good reasons for the other 9mm. For the same reason someone who does woodwork needs both a circular saw and a jig saw, different designs of guns have very different purposes. The right tool for the right job.

As for the flashlight, maybe Dan can help on that one. I can justify guns, but he's probably better at flashlights.

CBBN, where were you when I needed you?

I do need a handgun with extra capacity. I have none beyond 8+1.

If you want a REAL light, then I could link to a page that shows a light that will start fires, blind the neighborhood and probably get you arrested when you turn it on at night in a residential neighborhood. I do not think they are for sale tough. It is not exactly pocket friendly
