Before I grade the final SUP of the regular season and pronounce the winner, let's go ahead and post the Stupid Underdog Picks, Bowl Game Bonanza version. Rules are very simple--pick FOUR (4) Underdogs--not 3, as we did in years past, but FOUR (4) due to the increased number of games--and the rules will be the same as if we were playing 4 weeks worth of regular season Stupid Underdog Picks. If your pick(s) win, you get to add the points by which they were the underdog.

Take a flyer on a big double digit dog, and play safe with 3 others? Play safe with all 4? Go with something in the middle?

Lot of strategy.

Get your picks in before kickoff of the first game December 17th. Using a different source for the odds, so the format will be a little different. I am placing the team that is the underdog with a + and the number beside it. Make sure you pick one of those teams each time.

Good luck.

No one else thinks Washington has a shot? :Christz_pillepalle:

Vegas had the line at around fifteen. I think that's a little conservative.

Bama 44
Wash 24

What blows me away is that what is legitimately the fourth best team in the country is a 16 point underdog.

I'm probably crazy but I think it's a whole lot closer than what everyone expects. If UW can jump out on them early it'll put Bama in a situation they and their freshman quarterback aren't used to; coming from behind. They came from behind early to beat Ole Miss early in the season but this Washington team is a different animal and they've also got one of the best coaches in the country.

There is no way Washington matches straight up with Bama. For Washington to win, they will need all the gadget plays that can be run and they will need Bama to put the ball on the turf 4 times. Otherwise, it is a 20 pt game. And don't underestimate for one second the Bama Home Crowd in the Georgia Dome. It will be a festive atmosphere from beginning to end.

D line will dominate Washington.
Washington has a small back and did not run the ball all that well.
Alabama easy.

You guys are probably right but Washington has one of the best quarterbacks in the country, if not the best. Bama needs to limit their possessions and not fall behind early.

Alabama easy.

They rushed for 210 yards a game. (UK 241, Bama 245). Sounds like they run the ball okay :533:
They passed for another 267 ypg (Bama226)
Their rushing defense doesn't stack up to Alabama (63 ypg) but again it's not bad, #18 in the country at 123.5 ypg. Passing defense is very similiar, 184.5 ypg allowed by Bama; 192.6 for Washington.

I think it's close. Talk me out of betting on UW someone. You guys aren't doing a very good job so far lol.

I'll just say that Bama may be the best college defensive team in the history of football, led by the greatest football coach ever

Stats are just that stats,
When I watched a few games they seem very small, both QB and RB.
I do not see them rushing for half of their season average.
But you go ahead and put some money down on Washington.

Well, here's something to watch for...non-offensive touchdowns. If Washington doesn't give any up they win, simple as that. No one's been able to keep Bama's defense/special teams from adding points to their offense's total however. I'd expect one or two, but more than that and Washington doesn't have a chance.

I am in the camp that Washington has no chance before they get off the bus.

Just as well--will make me focus on grading them as they come in better! Good luck, all.

Nice pick on the Vandals. I mulled that one over before ultimately deciding to pass. Two teams going in different directions tho.
