Play KSR Hall of Fame Game Contest: Kentucky vs. Alabama @ Rupp Arena

**Chairmen of the Board Version** Clearly, the Cats need to get back to MUCH better work rebounding the ball. This Game Contest will reflect that. Hopefully, the whole team will get after it better and it will bode well for the rest of the season.

1. Predict the Kentucky margin of victory. If you believe that Kentucky will lose, make sure that you make it clearly known with a -- [minus sign], or something else.

2. Predict the game high scorer, AND the total number of points he will score in the game. NOTE--it does not have to be a Kentucky player for this KSR point.

3. Over/Under: "14": The number of total rebounds by all of UK's guards/wings in the game, over or under 14 total rebounds. Because of a depleted front line, the Cats will need even more attention paid to the boards by all guards and wings.

Eligible players (attempting to include, reasonably, the players that COULD have important minutes due to depth issues for this particular game) are the following:
*Ulis
*Murray
*Briscoe
*Hawkins
*Matthews
*Mulder
*Floreal

So how many TOTAL rebounds will be gotten by ALL of the above listed players COMBINED as ONE grand total number?

4. Down Under Wonder: Isaac Humphries came up BIG in the Texas A&M game, grabbing 12 rebounds in just 20 minutes before being unfairly called for a technical and fifth foul. That is a rate of exactly 0.60 rebounds per minute played. With Alex Poythress and Derek Willis not playing (and if one of them miraculously does play, forget that I said that, lol, but the game question still stands) vs. the Crimson Tide, Isaac's minutes and rebounding could be just as important as they were against the Aggies.

How many rebounds per minute will the Mr. Humphries get vs. Alabama? Answers are to be limited to two decimal points, for example an answer of "1.124 per minute" (an absurdly strong rate, BTW, just sayin') shall be rounded down to "1.12 per minute", etc.

TB: Total number of Offensive Rebounds for Kentucky in the game.

Good Luck and GO BIG BLUE!!!

I don't get the joke. Are you talking about the Alabama kid, "Retin O."?

Obama's son = Obasohan.

Oh ok. All I could remember was the "O". I didn't even look at their roster for this contest because I had decided to make it all about UK rebounding, etc.

1. Winning Team and Margin: Kentucky dominated Alabama from fairly early in the second half, winning by 25 tonight. Only one Game Contest player predicted within five points of that margin, Doc, with a gutsy guess of 20.

One point for Doc.

Nice work, Docta!

2. Game's Leading Scorer, Points: As hot as Tyler Ulis got late, finishing with 19 points, and as good as Jamal Murray was for most of the game in getting a big shot when he wanted to, his 23 points were not enough since it was Alabama's Retin Obasohan (I think I saw his jersey often enough tonight to recall the spelling, lol) who led all players on the floor tonight with 29.

Looks like the good Doctor has struck aGAAAIIN, he being the only one who selected Mr. Obasohan as leading scorer in a losing effort for the Tide choosing him to go for 22.

Two points for Doc.

Will Doc put this baby to bed or will someone else step up?

3. Over/Under: "14": "The number of total rebounds by all of UK's guards/wings in the game, over or under 14 total rebounds."

Eligible players and the boards they accumulated: Ulis 5; Briscoe 4; Murray 4; Matthews 2; Floreal 2; Mulder 1; Hawkins 0... which combines to an overall total of 18 rebounds for the guards/wings in the game. I felt like Briscoe and Murray had even more than that, but that's the official box score's tally as far as I can tell.

That makes the exact answer "Over, 4".

Lotsa good answers on this one. Some "+2"'s, a "+3", a "+6", but it was TWO players who nailed the "Over, 4", Flounder and Paduka.

One point each for Flounder and Paduka.

Nice accuracy!

4. Down Under Wonder: "How many rebounds per minute will the Mr. Humphries get vs. Alabama?"

Isaac followed up his 20 minutes vs. TAM with a 21 minute effort full of hustle and fun tonight in the Cats' victory over the Tide in Rupp. It was good to see he and his teammates smiling.

Because our guards got after it so well, oh, and one Alex Poythress took up some minutes and real estate, oh, and of course Marcus Lee with his game-high 12 rebounds... well, there just wasn't the pickins he got at College Station.

Mr. Humphries grabbed 4 rebounds in those 21 minutes, yielding a rebound per minute number of 0.19 as the exact answer.

Who came closest?

Very few saw Isaac taking a big step backward tonight, but he did, strictly in terms of this game point's parameters, not a knock on him... blueboss had a nice pick of 0.28 per minute, but only ONE got VERY close... Harlow with my fave pick of the night, dang near nailed it with a guess of 0.18.

One point for Harlow.

Sick pick, Harlow!

Flounder, Paduka, and Harlow won strong points tonight, but only a point apiece.

No need for a TB because it's Doc's night. Only he had two points.

Turn out the lights. The party's over.

"DOC WINS!"

A familiar sound ringing in his competitors' ears to be sure.

Nice job Doc!!
