Record $700 million now.

the thing is, it really doesn't matter the size of the prize. They're all so big they'd set any of us up for life and then some, and the odds are the same regardless as well.

And that's the rub. Goodness knows I'd be great at being the idle rich with a $700 million annuity coming into the bank account, but the odds of me winning are the same as being attacked by a shark in a Colorado swimming pool while being hit by lightening.

Trust me, I HATE that fact. I could really use a big pile of money dropping in my lap, the same as any of us, and I swear i'd be a big tipper and be a great guy and get good UK tickets and take care of folks here and all, but I know it won't happen.

I can dream about it, about having so much money I have the vacation home, the jet, enough money to buy the rights to Firefly and get the show back on the air, but it's just a dream. Right up there with the one with Katie Stanic inviting me to spend the summer in the Hamptons.

I know. But it doesn't stop me from wondering how long it will take me to drove to the Georgia state line to get a ticket, since Alabama is one of the few backward states without a lottery. ..

...and no, I didn't. But maybe next time...

If you took the 30 year payout in 1.5 billion, you'd get 4.16 million dollars per month for 30 years. Let that sink in.....

Good movie, not great but good.

So month one you buy the house.

Month two you buy the yacht.

By about month six I'm out of plans. Which sounds beyond wonderful.

Actually we'd get Firefly back on the air I think, either that or run for PResident.

I've often said I'd take the lump sum if I won the lottery.

But not this one. I'd definitely take the annuity. One year's worth is hitting a super jackpot for me. I'll need time to figure out how to spend the rest.

Worth a chuckle on a night with nothing else to watch. Have seen it a few times. It's one of those movies that occasionally comes on regular TV now, and when it comes on, you have to stop and watch it. Have probably seen parts of it half a dozen times :).
