View Full Version : NEA members want union to back Sanders, not Clinton

While it's true Sanders is much more pro union, there's also the little problem that he's an admitted socialist.

So a large number of educators in our secondary schools want a socialist for President.

Does this surprise anyone? Disappoint, sadden, anger, frustrate, yes, but surprise?

Shakespeare was wrong. Don't start with the lawyers, start with the teachers. lol. Not all obviously, I had many GREAT teachers, but many of them were as frustrated with the state of things as I am.

It will be much more difficult for an admitted socialist to win a nation election than a lying cheating two faced hag so I say let the democrats put him on the ticket against the least likable two face lying bully GOP candidate and see which turd floats to the top of the bowl

The NEA doesn't represent its members. If not for the protections offered in the event of a civil suit or wrongful termination most teachers I know wouldn't be members, including me.

With all of the bullyang they teach (or don't teach, as the case may be!) this doesn't surprise me one bit.
The NEA is a classic example of what Kruschev was talking about in his plan to ovethrow American society..........control the educational system, the media, and the film makers in Hollywood, and gain control of one of the political parties, which they have successfully done with the Dumbocrats.

I am not, however, inclined to believe that they will accomplish their eventual goals without a lot of people dying in the process. There will be a physical fight, but the time and places(s) have yet to be decided.

At least that's how I see it.

Most teachers I work with are conservatives. It's not like that in the urban areas.

I was approached a few years back about becoming a school resource officer. I said no right away. I am pretty versatile and flexible, but that is one aspect of the job that I would not do well in.
Much respect to the teachers out there. They're handcuffed way worse than we are in the ways they're allowed to do their jobs. There's no way I could do that. Heck, I can't wait until I can retire from this occupation and be done with it.

We've been blessed with good SROs. It helps that we have few incidents in our high school and middle school.

I suspect you've seen the recent viral video of the incident from SC of the officer body slamming the student. IMO she got exactly what she deserved and her parents should get the same

Yes, I saw it, ad naseum, all over the TV when I've had it on.
My understanding of the unfolding of events is this: the young lady in question came to class and was being very disruptive. The presiding teacher asked her numerous times to stop and to turn her cellular phone off, and it is my understanding that she refused to do so. The teacher then called for upper management, and the school principal showed up. He asked her to stop disrupting class and turn off her phone, and she again refused.the principal then called for the SRO, and shows up on scene. The officer then asked her to do the same things, stop disrupting class and to turn off her phone twice, and she again refused. The officer then attempted to take control of her, she actively resisted his lawful authority, and ended up being arrested.
Everybody involved, except for the female student, did what they should have done. From what I observed from the video I have seen, the officer acted within his lawful authority in this particular situation.

Now, the Sheriff found cause to terminate the officer in this case, and it has been stated that this same officer has been counselled on other occasions from using too much force. So for him personally, this situation may have been his Waterloo, although from what I observed and what I understand to be the narrative, he acted within the scope of his legal authority. Maybe he was on probation from another prior incident, and if so, this incident gave the Sheriff the excuse he needed to terminate this officer. Who can say for sure?

As far as I can determine, based on what I know, the teacher followed his policy, the principal followed his policy, and the officer acted legally within the scope of his authority. And the disruptive student went to jail, exactly as she should have. If I had been that officer, and knew what he knew at that time, I would have acted in the same manner.

You absolutely CANNOT allow students to disrupt the class and interfere with the orderly operation of normal school activities. Period. Order must be maintained.

She was asked by the teacher and the principle to put the phone away. She thumbed her nose at the people in charge and continued to disrupt the class. You do that and what do you expect. I blame the kid and I blame the parent. When I was in school, this stuff happened all the time. Bet next time she or any of her classmates are asked to do something by those in charge, they do it.

The sheriff stated a second video shows the student assaulting the officer, so it goes beyond just thumbing her nose.

I miss the old days when someone would mouth off like that and get it smacked shut, and everyone had the good sense to know that it was the right thing to do both for society and the person who mouthed off.

But the victim society has taken over, and now someone acts like trash and they're wronged if someone straightens it out.

when I was a kid you got a whipping. it wasn't perfect but it beat the alternative where a-holes run amok.

Yeah, I'm getting crotchety in my old age, but I never liked jerks even when I was younger. lol
