This was taken 27 minutes before kickoff...I said Mitch NEEDED to say something...and what he said was the wrong thing TO say...this is the result from that

12 minutes, how can Mitch deny this anymore? This isnt even a debate anymore, this is a "when is this finally gonna happen?" issue now, these players do not deserve this

This really is rock bottom. I honestly don't think it can get worse.

Bad Vandy team is beating Kentucky 27-0, numerous gaffes, team appears both poorly coached and unmotivated.

Last 6 quarters of UK v Vanderbilt? 65-8, Vandy.

Last time Vanderbilt beat Kentucky by 21 or more points in back to back games? 06 & 07.

That's 1906 and 1907.

We are setting records for futility the depths of which we have not seen in our lifetimes. And for many of us, that is a long, long time.

it gets worse than that

Kentucky's worst loss to Vanderbilt ever was 50-0 in 1897. Among games since WWII, worst loss was 42-6 in 1969.

OK This is how bad things are in the UK Athletic Department

Oscar Combs ‏@wildcatnews

I interrupt my silence to inform you UK announced today's attendance as 44,902. I must say at least 25,000 of those were in Casper images.

Jen Smith ‏@jenheraldleader

When I asked for the number of tickets/passes scanned today, I was told that number wasn't available, that UK had never been asked for it.

If this is 45,000 people then Kentucky is #1 in the BCS standings this week...being told the picture is too large to actually post

Avery Williamson now has a career-high 17 tackles. The most for a #UKfootball player since Danny Trevathan had 17 tackles 3 times in 2011.

Was Mitch suggesting people who complain about football are racist? I heard a bit of what he said, but not all of it. He basically said people have a personal agenda if they are complaining about football.

You would be surprised at how many, long time, die hard UK football fans I talked to yesterday, myself included, who wanted a Vandy blowout win. Sad, but we feel that is what it would take to eliminate the insanity of MB possibly bring Joker back next year. Now you can all tell me how you could never root against UK. but for the good of this program what happened yesterday is a blessing, assuming Joker is fired NLT tomorrow.

Darrell KSR

LakeCat, I couldn't root against UK; just not in my nature. But once the game was going to be lost, I can easily see a "who cares, pile on" attitude if it resulted in a better hiring/firing decision.

Let's look on the bright side. . . . Next year we'll have no place to go but up!

11-05-2012, 07:19 AM
If Joker could have had a Hoosier's moment and turned it all around, ripping off wins the rest of this year and 8 or 9 wins next year, I think everyone would have been happy. No way do I pull for a blow-out in the pregame, but once you know you aren't winning, you just stop caring.

I'm glad the young guys are seeing the field. Some coach has got some talent to start with next year....certainly more talented than your average 1-9 team.

Darrell, I certainly understand, but when you got a AD not in touch with reality, if we had pulled off a win in front of 19,000 against Vandy and finished 3-9, do you have any doubt Joker would have been retained by MB? The debacle Saturday, IMO gave UK football a decent chance of a resurrection.

I think Joker was going before the Vandy game. But, all of this speculation about what might of or would have or could have happened just is in denial of what actually did happen. Let's move on.
