I'll start.

Category: Famous groups.

For $100, the Answer is:

Crystal Gayle, Tiger Woods, and Jimmy Durante.

What is the question?

Nobody buzzing in? No guesses?

I googled and cheated, but I would never guess it for myself.

I thought it was kind of a fun question. Pappy, feel free to post the answer if nobody has made a guess by the next time you saw it. I appreciate you allowing others to guess wildly, though, but doesn't look like we have any bites. If you answer, you have to come up with another category, and provide an answer that we have to provide the question for!

Same catagory for $200 (well, not so famous--lets call it "common threads")

Sammy Hagar, Baron Davis and Fran Drecher

Good one, Doc. I haven't a clue; I'm not buzzing in on this one. I may have a random guess at some point if others flail away.

(And good job on the first answer!)

I have to say I'd play but I am utterly stumped by these questions. I'm clearly not getting the context or I'm just dim. Probably a fair amount of both.

The first question was, "Who are Kentucky Colonels?" (Doc guessed it right, see his picture).

I'm contemplating Doc's answer, trying to guess the question, but I'm coming up blank.

here is a clue

http://snarkitect.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/06/gazoo.jpg

On the Colonel one, growing up, Colonel Sanders lived just up the road from us. We lived in Hurstbourne (Nottingham Parkway) for many years and he lived in that development (Seton Springs). I recall trick or treating many years at his house. I knew both Crystal Gayle and Tiger Woods were, assumed Durante was. I believe my father is one.

Three people who have been arrested for drug possession?

That's a WAG, based on the crazy far-out dude in the hint.

Googled again and, dang you guys are good with the questions...
Or should I say answers, your reply should be in the form of a question (Alex's condescending voice here)

I'm not sure about alien anal probing though. That usually happens with an alien abduction, from what I hear.

I don't think that is their area of "expertise", but they my be considered stars or at least celebrities in their field.

When I was a junior in high school, my history teacher had a week of rock and roll trivia, mostly current stuff (late 70's).

It was then I realized how little I listened to music. A little Boston, a little Aerosmith, some crappy disco stuff from time to time, but nothing like my classmates.

I knew almost nothing. Knew none of the guitarists, none of the drummers, none of the musicians in general, with almost none of the lead vocalists known, either.

I haven't gotten any better :).
