What an engaging person Matthew Mitchell is.

Playing to an audience of only about six media members, he nonetheless was captivating, humble, yet confident. Truly the. "Robin" to the men's basketball coach Calipari 's "Batman," and a great dynamic duo.

Again, on tablet and will, and have more later, but Mitchell was giving a lot of credit for his success to Rich Brooks at Kentucky, talking about how he embraced him, took him under his wing, and showed him how to succeed. Talked about how Rich endured tremendous criticism, but succeeded in spite of it. Talked fondly about the Big Blue Caravan tour and bus rides he had with Rich, with good natured ribbing part of the process.

He gave credit to many, including Billy Donovan when he was at Florida, saying Billy invited him to their practices, where he asked all kind of "stupid" questions Billy answered.

Also spoke fondly of Pat Summit, suggesting nobody would do what she did in the SEC, and talked about how both Summit and Mickie DeMoss went to bat for him to give him a job "that a monkey could have done, and done better than I did."

Very cool discussion of the character of his players, and what they stress on a daily basis. It is no wonder that he has been an excellent recruiter.

More later.
