Clearly the owner's of the mine forced the miner to do this. Too bad Big Bird wasn't there as well.

I admit I'm bias however I love to see citizens stand up to whomever misrepresents them. Were I Romney, I'd use this big time.

blue sent me a lot of info about what the feds are doing to the miners and they are trying to destroy the business and are very arrogant.
If the owners made the miners do it, fine, the casino unions in Vegas forced the members to vote for Reid

"Forcing miners" to do something is almost an oxymoron. Companies forcing them is even more humorous. If they stood up there they mostly likely meant every word of it.

I am a retired surface coal miner and I can tell you right now that miners are some of the last people on earth that could be forced to do anything. They are a stubborn breed and they don't jump every time someone says boo! They have enough sense to realize that Obama is putting them out of a job and they will not lie down and take it without a fight.

I was being sarcastic. The initial reports, the false ones, were that the mine owners forced the laborers to attend. Clearly that wasn't the case. Of course that doesn't stop the Obama campaign from advancing that false belief. After all Barach approved this message...says so at the beginning of the commercial.

Oh I knew you were being sarcastic Doc. I was just stating the fact that miners are a pretty independent bunch and wont stand much pushing. It's just a way of life for them.

Damn fine way for a mine owner to get the hell beat out of him. Miners are extremely independent people who won't take being forced to do nothing. Besides there are so many state and federal labor laws that protect the rights of miners that unions have been made irrelevant.

blue did your blood boil tonight when Obama said he was for the coal industry?

Got so damn mad jazy that I actually got swimmy headed for a few seconds. The absolute indifference and overbearing attitude that Msha has is mind boggling. Jazy, there are half as many mines in Pike county as there was this time last year but still a overall reduction of 75% in the last 4 years. MSHA has been given control of all metal and non-metal mining so they see coal as a small part of their perview now. BTW anyone see the Gold Rush show on DTV where the guys are sitting around and the heavy set guy in the strip cover alls shows up and asks to see their training records and certificiations? The guy with the busy beard asks him what in the hell are you talking about. He found out really quick. MSHA had arrived.

Jazy, you can post that pm that I sent you if you want to. All I can tell you is that Obama will not visit any mine that I am aware of. Secret Service would not allow it. A way of life being stripped from a place where mining is a way of life with no other local business's that can pay these guys anywhere near what mining jobs pay for guys with highschool educations or less. Miner men making 300.00 dollars a day with a bunch of other jobs 250.00+. Foreman jobs pay pay more. Taking away these jobs are taking away these mens ability to feed and get their children a education to get them away from the mining industry.
