So a Single A minor league team decided to hold a Mark Emmert Appreciation Night.

From the press release:
All fans who attend the game and do nothing but stay until the third inning will receive credit towards a future Captains game of their choice. In addition to this great benefit of just showing up, given the recent ruling in college athletics that will allow student athletes the opportunity to enjoy consuming food as they need it, four lucky college students will win an All-You-Can-Eat wristband and tickets to a future Captains game.

During the game, fans will be permitted to move from their seat location designated by their ticket, subject to a one inning waiting period, if they desire a different view.

"Fans who wear their "generic" college jersey that may or may not correspond to a famous athlete who may attend the same college, may be awarded by a visit from a Captains Booster who greets them with a $100 handshake."

That may or may not be a violation depending on what jersey one wears.

Wow. He's reached quite a level of buttheaded incompetence to be lampooned by an organization not even part of college sports.

What's funniest to me is that he still has his job, which would appear to mean the NCAA Presidents and other decision makers don't realize just how stupid he looks and by association how stupid they all look.

Yes but he is responsible for that landmark rule change which allows uconn to give shabazz Napier a snickers bar before bed rather than him have to spend a buck and a quarter during the day to buy one and put it on his night stand in his giant university provided dorm room. Now hopefully they can free up some time to look into trivial matters like academic fraud to keep players eligible

He's definitely a visionary. he's close to having a great vision of the 64 top schools in the NCAA driving off in the distance.
