Lets assume next Saturday is a great football afternoon weather wise, remember it is opening weekend for Keeneland, AND we do not know at this time whether the students will be able to tailgate without the new restrictions. The question is, how will the attendance for this years game compare to the attendance with last years Miss St game, which was also the 2nd SEC home game but followed 2 road trips to LSU and USC, plus a Jacksonville ST home game the week before. Last years game also occurred on the final day of the fall schedule at Keeneland.

OK enough handicapping. What is your prediction?

edited to add that the official attendance for last year's game was 57,891

Are we talking Baghdad Bob attendance, or actual bottoms in seats?

I guess we have to use the official numbers, as anything else is purely subjective to the eyewitness accounts. I know that is not perfect, and open to discussion, but it is the best I could do on the spur of the moment.

Last nights attendance was embellished by 20% easily. Lower bowl wasn't full, uppers were space, students non existent.
Put keeneland, early start time in the mix it's not going to be pretty.

I should be going with a couple family members and I intend to pick out our own section.

I think it'll be listed as around 42,000 regardless of how many tickets are actually scanned. I didn't know what to vote for though. Is that 33% since that would be 16,000 off of last year's attendance, or would that be 67%?

In that scenario, I would think you would choose the -30%.

I think they'll do everything possible to keep announced attendance around 50,000. It keeps up appearances.

I spent the weekend in West Liberty and didn't go to the game. Watching on tv though, it was fairly obvious the stadium was only half full even though they did their best to not show the upper half. They couldn't avoid showing the student section from time to time, and it looked like a ghost town.

Announced attendance today: 49,498. Yeah, riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight.

As @notjerrytipton posted, they also announced UK gained a billion yards and won the game 100-0.

Well we have the scanned ticket number at 29,000 and change, an eyewitness estimate at 42,000 and the official # at 49,498. I would not know how to announce a winner of the poll

If the scanned ticket number was *truly* 29,873 (something like that), you'd add maybe 2,000 more to that total to include media, other people who did not require a "ticket," such as security, concession workers, other stadium personnel, etc.

I'd say 32,000 were in the stadium yesterday. Don't use that as your number, but if I had to use a number, that's the one I'd use.
