Wow. 69, older than I thought he was, but dang.

Not sure anyone was more interwoven the comedy blockbusters of a generation, from Meatballs to Animal house to Caddyshack to Ghostbusters and Vacation. Not to mention one of my favorites, Groundhog Day. he and Murray had real issues on that film, Murray saw it much more seriously than Ramis. Probably a great pairing to keep it light but with a message.

Of course SCTV for years as well. Off beat show but had its moments.

That's my era, and my genre of comedy. Definitely in my wheelhouse. Add Fast Times at Ridgemont High, and I'm all cultured up with Animal House, The Blues Brothers, Vacation, Caddyshack, et al. (I know they're not all his, but that's the genre.)

I hate to hear of his passing.

I met both Ramis and Bill Murray when they were in Louisville filming "Stripes". Both were very amiable and very funny. I met them while working security on the downtown set.
