Paid for from lottery proceeds. Wish the Gov of KY had thought of it first

As promised, a significant portion of lottery $ does go toward education....that's where "KEAS" money comes from. This money supposedly helps make college more affordable for Ky's kids. About 7-8 years ago, my school district's supt and I did a little study on the impact of this money. Within less than 10 years, due to colleges annually increasing tuition, kids were no better off WITH KEAS money than they were before KEAS money was available.

Colleges have seen this money as a target for their greedy hands. They knew they could raise tuition every year because kids had this money. If some of our legislators had brains enough to figure this out, they could have imposed freezes on tuition increases or at least they could have put limits on them.

Yes, lottery money goes for ed. in the form of KEAS....unfortunately, kids are even less able to afford college now than before the lottery/KEAS.
