Cats fell 38-0 at the hands of the No. 14-ranked Gators last Saturday. The Wildcats are in a stretch of three-consecutive games against ranked foes, battling No. 6 South Carolina this weekend and hosting No. 19/21 Mississippi State next weekend.

QUICK NOTES

• Kentucky ranks in the top 40 of three national statistical categories, including 25th in fewest sacks allowed (1.00 per game) and kickoff returns (26 yards per return) and 31st in net punting (39.8 yards per punt). UK ranks 43rd in passing offense (256.50)and 44th in pass defense (209.25)

• Kentucky and South Carolina are meeting for the 24th time in school history. USC leads the all-time series 15-7-1, including an 8-4 advantage in Lexington.

• The Wildcats are looking for their first win over a ranked opponent since upsetting No. 10 South Carolina in 2010 in Commonwealth Stadium, 31-28.

• Seven of the last 10 meetings with the Gamecocks have been determined by seven point or less.

• UK is 9-1 under Joker Phillips in games that the Wildcats win the turnover margin.

• Kentucky is in a stretch of three-consecutive games against teams that are currently nationally ranked. Previous times in school history that has occurred include 1958, 1968, 1970, 1976, 1988, 2007, 2009 and 2011.

• Sophomore QB Maxwell Smith has completed 68.5 percent of his passes for 966 yards and eight touchdowns. The sophomore, who did not see action vs. Florida due to a bruised shoulder, ranks third in the SEC and 17th nationally in total offense at 316.3 yards per game. As a team,
Kentucky is 43rd nationally and ranks fifth in the SEC in pass offense.

• Kentucky had 10 or more receivers haul in a catch in three of the first four games this season. UK had 11 different receivers make a catch against Louisville, 10 vs. Kent State and 11 vs. WKU.

• Senior wide receiver La’Rod King leads the receiving corps and ranks tied for second in the SEC with 6.5 receptions per game.

• Junior linebacker Avery Williamson leads Kentucky and ranks second in the SEC in tackles per game (10.2). He finished with a career-high 14 tackles vs. WKU, becoming the first UK player with 14 or more tackles since Winston Guy finished the 2011 season with a 14-tackle effort vs.
Tennessee. He had a team-high tying eight tackles vs. Florida.

• UK has a 135-112-4 record (.546) in Commonwealth Stadium.

Pretty amazing that we're only giving up 1 sack per game on average with everyone knowing we're passing it 2/3 of the time.

I'm surprised they didn't mention that South Carolina's last east division loss was at UK two years ago. I bet Spurrier knows.

I'd say that's a safe bet. If he doesn't how many points would I get in this weeks SUP?
