Hmmm is right. Somehow I missed all the MSM coverage of this when it actually passed in the House.

Think there's no difference in how the media reports things? Read the HuffPo and WSJ articles on the SAME BILL and look at how they report it in almost complete opposite terms. NOt just their opinion of it either but what they are saying the bill actually says and does. HuffPo makes it sound like only US debt would be prioritized, which is untrue. The bill would prioritize debt payment over all else, which is the opposite of what the HuffPo piece claims it does.

The GOP are fools to pass anything Obama can claim meets his demands for a "clean bill". Pass it with automatic spending cuts that go into effect if a deal isn't reached by Nov 22, Sequester 2, and dare him to not sign it. If presented right they can put this blame ball back in his court b/c most Americans do want default averted but also want spending cuts tied to it. They'll have the votes to take that approach, where they didn't have them with Obamacare alone.

Despite the news reports the GOP is in a better position, they have voted on and passed legislation to fund the government, Reid refuses to bring it to a vote fearing it will pass, forcing Obama to veto or yield.
