Thankfully I live in the next county. He is radical. The day after winning he said he is going to change the school curriculum to show Columbus wasn't the first here but some black man from somewhere in Africa. He has been disbarred in the past and us a real wacko. He won by betraying his black opponent as being friends with white republicans.

The city has changed tremendously since we moved to Miss in 1979. I avoid it at all costs unless I absolutely must go. Crime, decay, bad schools, tax base shrinking, drugs, gangs, if it's bad it's there. There is a small pocket of upper income doctors and lawyers that still live there...doctors so they can be close to the 3 big hospitals including the med center and the rest just liberals. It's a small Detroit

Good friend of mine lives there. He's been robbed twice, his friends are generally arming themselves or leaving. Can't speak to it more than that but it doesn't sound good from the bit I hear.

He's back and forth and travels to some other states as well for work but he's still got a house there.
