Is the extended family OK? Been thinking about them for a few days as I tracked the storm. Usagi is a large, powerful storm. I know they prepare well in the islands, but it is hard to do much when the winds and rain are that bad.

What the "Boss" has told me is that everyone is fine, they pretty much are hunkered down until it clears out. They are used to this, although most of the storms that go through there are not anywhere near as bad as this storm. They usually get tons of rain and a little wind, but looks like this one is different. But where they live at is pretty high up, lots of drainage culverts to make the water run off, but when you get to the low laying areas is where the major problems are, and usually those areas are the main 'choke points' for the area where they live. When they know this stuff is coming, her Mom & Dad run to the store and lay in the provisions in case they get cut off for a few days.
And thanks for asking, dan!

As jazy said, "good news"!!

Even though they are normally spared the flooding that occurs in the lowlands, landslides "could" be a greater concern. Very happy they weathered the storm.
